some people say "translation" is when you’re transferring, "in writing", the words from one language to another.
they also say "interpretation" is when you’re transferring, ‘by saying’, the words from one language to another.

Translation usually means a crude meaning of what is being said. For example, if in english we say out of site out of mind then in russian a translation machine will say invisible maniac. Interpreatation is more precise and done by experts in the art.
